The Green Bay Packers have designated running back Aaron Jones (hamstring), receiver Christian Watson (hamstring), tackle David Bakhtiari (knee), linebacker Lukas Van Ness (elbow), and cornerback Jaire Alexander (back) as questionable for the home opener against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Guard Elgton Jenkins (knee) and safety Zayne Anderson (hamstring) have been ruled out for the game. Jenkins didn’t practice throughout the week after leaving the game in Atlanta during the first half, and Anderson didn’t participate in Thursday or Friday’s practices.
Jaire Alexander’s back injury is a new addition to the injury report, with him being a limited participant in Friday’s practice. Head Coach Matt LaFleur mentioned monitoring Alexander’s back issue.
Aaron Jones returned to practice on Thursday in a limited capacity after tweaking his hamstring in Week 1 against Chicago. Receiver Christian Watson returned to practice on Friday after sitting out Thursday’s padded practice as part of a planned absence.
Linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) and punter Daniel Whelan (finger) are not given an injury designation and are expected to play.
For the Saints, running back Jamaal Williams is ruled out with a hamstring injury, and tight end Foster Moreau (ankle) is listed as doubtful. Cornerback Paulson Abedo (hamstring) and safety Ugo Amadi (knee) are questionable, while quarterback Taysom Hill (knee), safety Jordan Howden (finger), and running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) are expected to be available.
