AJ Dillon has been a solid player for the Green Bay Packers since being drafted by them in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
In his first four NFL regular seasons, the Boston College product has amassed 2,428 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns for 4.1 yards per carry. He also made three playoff appearances for Green Bay, but he was unable to do so in 2023 due to injuries.

Matt LaFleur prefers to keep both AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones
If Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had his way, of course, he would rather have both Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon back next season, although he acknowledged that it may not be possible.
“AJ’s been a great member of our team, and certainly I think you’ve got to have multiple backs in this league,” said LaFleur. “You have to. It’s just the pounding these guys take, and I think you could really see his value every year towards the end of the season. But yeah, I told him, shoot, I’d love to have him back here.

But with Aaron Jones carrying a $17.6 million cap hit with his base salary of $11.1 million in 2024, the Green Bay Packers can only afford to retain one of them due to their cap situation. And with general manager Brian Gutekunst likely leaning towards Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon’s days in Green Bay seem to be numbered.
AJ Dillon linked with a move to AFC North
With AJ Dillon’s departure from Green Bay imminent, many have speculated where he’ll go next, and CBS Sports suggested that the 25-year-old might fit in great with the Baltimore Ravens’ run-heavy offense.
“The supersized vet could have an increased role in Green Bay depending on Aaron Jones’ future, but the latter has proven much more valuable. How about a return to his hometown of Baltimore as a short-yardage option.

Another option for AJ Dillon is the Cleveland Browns. With Nick Chubb still recovering from his knee injury, Dillon would theoretically carry the load in the meantime, and he would be a solid second option when Chubb is back.
