t’s not everyday you win for being the biggest fan of something. Fortunately, that’s not the case with Tom Grassi, a high school social studies teacher, when he was named the NFL Fan of the Year for being the biggest Green Bay Packers supporter out there.
Grossi’s story as a Green Bay Packers fan started on February 6, 2011, when the team won their 13th NFL championship. Although it all began as a lighthearted joke directed towards his father’s love for the Dallas Cowboys, that act served as a starting point for Grossi’s journey.
At that time, he was a sophomore studying at the State University of New York. After the Packers’ huge Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Grossi went out of his way to profess how much he loved the team by screaming it out loud for everyone to hear.
“I was the only Packers fan in New Paltz, and everyone knows I’m a Packers fan because I’m the only one there and I’m loud,” Grossi said. “I’m losing my voice screaming.
Since then, Grossi’s love for the team has grown exponentially. Now, he has done more than enough for the Green Bay Packers franchise, and the NFL has taken notice of it.
