ESPN report, stating that the Green Bay Packers have purportedly expanded their coaching staff with a new addition….

Montgomery, who served as the Green Bay Packers’ defensive line coach and running game coordinator for the past two seasons, has undergone a notable coaching trajectory. Initially joining the NFL as a defensive front assistant from 2015 to 2017, he subsequently assumed the role of defensive line coach from 2018 to 2021. His recent promotion led him to become a crucial figure in the Packers’ defensive strategies.

Before his NFL coaching endeavors, Montgomery contributed his coaching expertise to college football programs. He spent two seasons each at Oklahoma and Michigan, gaining valuable experience in developing players at the collegiate level. His coaching journey also included stints at Wyoming and Northern Iowa, where he further honed his skills.

The New England Patriots identified a vacancy in the defensive line coaching position after Demarcus Covington transitioned to the role of defensive coordinator under the leadership of the new head coach, Jerod Mayo. Simultaneously, Montgomery found himself seeking new opportunities as a result of Jeff Hafley taking over as the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers.

In the Patriots’ recent coaching staff reshuffle, Montgomery stands out as a significant addition, joining a group of reported hires that includes offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer, and offensive assistant Ben McAdoo. The Patriots also experienced departures, with linebackers coach Steve Belichick and running backs coach Vinnie Sunseri opting to join the coaching staff at the University of Washington. Additionally, special teams assistant Joe Houston left the Patriots to pursue a coaching role at the University of Florida. The Patriots’ coaching landscape has thus undergone notable changes, reflecting a dynamic offseason as they prepare for the upcoming season under new leadership.
