Dodgers reduce guaranteed money for new FA signing due to health concern.

Atlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos had a message for some fans who believe the team needs one more big move.

In an appearance at the team’s annual fan fest, Anthopoulos was jokingly confronted by some fans who thought he should make a trade for Chicago White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease. Anthopoulos found the whole thing hilarious, but he dropped a bit of honesty on the fans in his response.

That asking price has definitely limited Cease’s market, even though the White Sox have supposedly been open to moving him all offseason. A new team was recently linked to a potential Cease trade, but nothing appears imminent and the price remains high.

The new ownership group taking charge of the Baltimore Orioles is set to feature an array of big names.

The Orioles confirmed the sale of the team on Wednesday to a group led by David Rubenstein, a private equity billionaire. Rubenstein’s group also includes a wide array of minority investors, including former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.  Notably, two major figures in the sports world are tied to the group: former NBA star Grant Hill and Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr.
