Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst deserves the praise he’s been getting for an excellent job he did during the 2023 NFL Draft that saw Green Bay welcome a slew of talented youngsters.

The 2023 draft class. This draft class looks like an absolute home run by Brian Gutekunst. Lukas Van Ness, Jayden Reed, Luke Musgrave, Dontayvion Wicks, Karl Brooks, Colby Wooden, Carrington Valentine, Anthony Johnson, and Tucker Kraft, all played key roles and made some big plays throughout the season.

Love wouldn’t have had the breakout 2023 campaign that he had if it weren’t for the likes of first-year Green Bay Packers weapons downfield in Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks, who finished the regular season first and third on the team in receiving yards, respectively.

Reed paced the Packers with 793 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 64 receptions, while Wicks had 581 receiving yards and four touchdown catches on 39 receptions. Reed was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, while Wicks was taken in the fifth round, making them two of the best finds at the draft. And that’s not to mention the other players mentioned above.

Now, it’s about developing those young studs into better players heading into 2024.
