“I think, in the summer, Celtic might be looking for a number one and a number two. More of a long-term strategy. Maybe, with the number two, I know Will Dennis got linked a few months back. Someone of that type. He’s not quite challenging for the number one. But one for the future.
Because of this, Stephen McGinn predicts that Celtic’s goalkeeping status will drastically change in the summer and that either none of the aforementioned three will sign new contracts or all of them will depart.
The Bhoys are taking initiative in the vast regions, as demonstrated by their signing of Nicolas Kuhn.
However, according to Stephen McGinn, the way the team has handled the goalkeeping problem has been the exact opposite and “strange,” as he stated on Go Radio.
Since leaving Tottenham, Joe Hart has been a reliable player, contributing significantly to the team that won the Triple Crown under Ange Postecoglou.
But the whole goalkeeping situation. Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist will move on.
“I think, in the summer, Celtic might be looking for a number one and a number two. More of a long-term strategy. Maybe, with the number two, I know Will Dennis got linked a few months back. Someone of that type. He’s not quite challenging for the number one. But one for the future.
“So they don’t have another situation where they don’t have a number two that’s ready to go in and play. Just keep building for your future. They do that for the rest of the positions in the squad. The goalkeeper situation has been a strange one over the last few years.”
