Sad news: Stephen Curry hints at a potential Warriors trade after Pelicans loss…..

The Golden State Warriors suffered their second blowout loss in a row on Wednesday to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Warriors’ 20th loss of the season was one more indicator the current roster will struggle to challenge for an NBA championship.

During his postgame press conference, Stephen Curry was asked about the impending trade deadline, which is scheduled for Feb. 8 this season, and whether the Warriors roster is on the clock to show some improvement. He replied by noting how their current standard needs to be changed.

“We have a standard that’s pretty evident that if things stay the same, that’s the definition of insanity, right? Keep doing the same thing, expecting a different result. As players, and what we can do, we have to control our focus, our competitiveness. Controlling things that we can on the court. Like every NBA season, every organization, this stuff works itself out. You can’t allow yourself to get distracted by that. … Until anything happens, you can’t get caught up in it.”

The Warriors front office has continued to walk two timelines with the roster. On one side, you have the veteran core of Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. On the other, you have the young guys led by Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski.
