On paper, the San Francisco 49ers have everything they need — and more — to take down the Green Bay Packers, go the distance, and roll to a Super Bowl win.
But we’ve seen these kinds of teams crumble under the bright lights way too many times in the past already.
The Niners are 9.5-point favorites ahead of their home clash with the Packers, which seems fair.
Then again, NFL analyst Skip Bayless believes they can be had as long as one thing happens: Brock Purdy turns the ball over.
Talking on Undisputed, Bayless stated that Purdy likes to gamble because the Niners’ schemes are so intelligent, and the players are so talented that they’ve instilled that kind of confidence in him.
“Jordan Love is better than Brock Purdy,” Bayless said.
Jordan Love is better than Brock Purdy. I need Green Bay to win this game to drain some of the shame out of my Cowboys loss.
So, the Packers’ defense could make the most of those risky plays.
Bayless believes it’ll take three turnovers from Purdy and none for Jordan Love to get the job done, adding that he might be emotional because of the Dallas Cowboys’ loss last week, which is why he might want the Packers to win this game.
Emotion aside, he does think that Jordan Love is more talented than Brock Purdy, and he thinks that if Aaron Jones can give them anything on the ground, the Packers would have a shot.
Then again, the only way they could take down this team, per Bayless, would be to outscore them, and that’s going to be easier said than done against one of the most stacked defenses in the league, not to mention their elite set of offensive playmakers.
