Celtics Add to Their Injury Report Ahead of Rematch With Cavaliers.
The Boston Celtics have added another significant name to the injury report for the second leg of the two-game mini-series with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jaylen Brown was shaken up after landing awkwardly under the basket in the first game, causing him to be questionable with an ankle sprain. Following Thursday morning’s shoot-around, Kristaps Porzingis’ calf flared up again, causing him to be absent from Boston’s lineup for a week, adding his name to the injury report.
The Celtics’ center is probable with left calf tightness. Barring another downgrade to his status, this will be Porzingis’ third game since returning from the calf injury he suffered on Black Friday against the Orlando Magic.
The Cavs’ have listed Evan Mobley as out again, so Porzingis could have another big game against Cleveland. He has averaged 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in his last three contests vs. the Cavaliers.
