Green Bay Packers Linked To Intriguing Defender In 2024 NFL Free Agency.

Kamren Curl, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have no other focus right now than beating the Chicago Bears in the win-and-in showdown during Week 18 NFL action. However, it’s never too early to begin focusing on the offseason and how the team could improve even more.

Over the last few years, the Packers have had a tough time adding talent in free agency. They have been in a lot of discussions, but have been unable to close the deal. That could change with a new direction and more financial flexibility following the Aaron Rodgers trade.

One major area of need heading into the offseason is at the safety position. Green Bay has talent at the position, but there is definite need for improvement.

Green Bay Packers Linked To Intriguing Safety In 2024 NFL Free Agency

Should the Packers dip into the NFL free agency market to pursue a safety, there is one option that has been suggested.

In a recent article published by Bleacher Report, Washington Commanders safety Kamren Curl was named a fit for the Green Bay Packers. Curl is not a household name, but he could be a very reasonably priced upgrade for the Packers.

“The four-year-pro is a Swiss army knife who has lined up in the box, deep and over the slot throughout his career. He’s also been productive with at least 80 total tackles every season, cracking triple digits for the first time in 2023—doing so by Week 14.”

Curl has had a solid season once again this season, racking up 115 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and five defended passes.

The Packers have always struggled with tackling in the secondary. Curl is one of the most underrated tacklers at the safety position. That alone would be a nice change of pace for Green Bay.

Granted, the Green Bay Packers could look to make a bigger move like a trade for Budda Baker. However, if they want a cost-effective option, Curl could make a ton of sense.
