Green Bay Packers wide receiver Bo Melton caught six passes for 105 yards receiving and a touchdown in a 33-10 win for Green Bay over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night football. This was the first time this season that a Packers wide receiver has gone over 100 yards receiving.

Melton was targeted nine times by quarterback Jordan Love and he also averaged 17.5 yards per catch in the game. This season, he has caught 11 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown. Bo Melton has averaged 14.2 yards per catch and has also rushed for seven yards on one carry.

Bo Melton was recently signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad with his breakout performance. Because of this move, wide receiver Samori Toure has been placed on injured reserve. This is the first big game of Melton’s NFL career and this may not be the last time this season that the Packers offense is going to need him.

With the injuries to the wide receiver position, they may need him to be a hero once again in Week 18 at home against the Chicago Bears. If the Green Bay Packers win that game, they will be in the postseason. Green Bay may be without Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, and Jayden Reed in Week 18.

With that being the case, it would leave them with Bo Melton, Romeo Doubs, and Malik Heath as the healthy wide receivers on the roster for quarterback Jordan Love to throw to. Tight end Tucker Kraft has turned into a reliable weapon for Green Bay’s offense in the absence of Luke Musgrave.

When Melton scored more than 100 yards receiving for the Packers on Sunday, the whole squad was pleased for him. For him, Romeo Doubs may have been the happiest of the group. Following Sunday night’s victory, head coach Matt LaFleur gave Bo Melton high marks and spoke to the media about him.

The Seattle Seahawks selected the 24-year-old in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, with the 229th overall pick. There, things didn’t work out for him; in Green Bay, they have gone more smoothly.

If the Packers’ best wide receivers aren’t playing again, Melton could need to have another fantastic game. Later this week, the injury report will provide details on howa significant amount of Melton’s Sunday game against the Chicago Bears (7-9).
