Packers fans have plenty of holiday love for their quarterback, but no cheers for Joe Barry on social media.
It appeared that the Green Bay Packers’ defense was going to continue handing out early Christmas gifts to opposing quarterbacks.
But Bryce Young ran out of time.
Young needed one more second as he failed to spike the ball in time to give Carolina kicker Eddy Pinero a chance to tie the game after needing only 19 seconds and two passes to get the Panthers in field goal range.
But the clock struck zero before Young’s toss toward the ground hit the dirt and the Packers escaped Charlotte with a 33-30 victory and their NFC playoff hopes still very much alive.
The reaction on social media included plenty of holiday cheers for Jordan Love’s solid day running the offense with three total touchdowns and a winning drive.
Aaron Jones was also applauded for his 127-yard performance (although many fans wondered what happened to him in the second half).
