Packers Reacts Week 16: A Joe Barry would you rather.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Green Bay Packers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Our evil pollsters have come up with an interesting “would you rather” for Packers fans this week:
Which result would you rather have for the 2023/2024 Packers? Win out the 2023 regular season and keep Joe Barry or lose out and fire Joe Barry?
I’m sure most Green Bay fans are rooting for their team to play spoiler in the postseason, rather than the alternative of rooting for a tank with six wins already on the books. Are fans willing to retain the Packers’ defensive coordinator for such an opportunity, though?
I’m still not fully certain that Barry will eventually be let go as the team’s defensive play-caller, based on the words coming out of the Packers organization. With that in mind, these two options for how the season (and next offseason) plays out could very well be on the table.
On Monday, head coach Matt LaFleur claimed that much of the defense’s problems aren’t with the play-calling, but with players executing their jobs — including alignment issues. Inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, who has been the team’s most vocal defender since Green Bay’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, told the media on Wednesday that the Packers’ issues centered around the players miscommunicating with each other.
So where do you stand? Do you want to make the playoffs more or do you want to fire Barry more? Drop your thoughts on the question down in the comment section below.
