Just Now: A Premiership Perfect Striker Emerged For Celtic…

£3 million Premiership striker could be perfect for Celtic.

The last time Celtic signed a first-team player from a Scottish club, it was David Turnbull. That was back in the summer of 2020. It has been a long time since then and a lot has changed. When it comes to transfers, the Hoops have spread their network further and wider. But sometimes, the perfect answer might lie closer to home.

Celtic might need to sign a striker urgently in January. There is a decent possibility that both Kyogo and Oh Hyeon-gyu might be called up by their respective national teams for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup.

That would leave Celtic without a recognised striker for a significant length of time. Hopefully, the club will not allow that to happen and sign a centre-forward as soon as the January transfer window opens.

The club have been linked with players like Sydney van Hooijdonk and Mathias Kvistgaarden in recent weeks. But someone like Lawrence Shankland of Hearts might be a better signing under these circumstances.

Shankland would not be the flashiest signing. He currently plays for Hearts and is 28 years of age. But he might be perfect for what the Hoops need in January.

If Kyogo and Oh leave for the AFC Asian Cup, especially the former, Celtic would need someone who can deliver goals from the get-go. They cannot afford to bring in a youngster and wait for him to adjust to the Scottish league.

The gap between Celtic and the Rangers is not as significant as it had once seemed. A couple of bad results for Brendan Rodgers’ side and they might catch up. And we know that this is not the most consistent team, and very capable of dropping points in games which they should be winning.

Other than Shankland, Bojan Miovski of Aberdeen could be a good addition as well. He has been in spectacular form this season even though the Dons are underperforming. The North Macedonian striker is making an impression for sure but the Hearts captain has proven himself over a longer period of time and would be the more dependable signing.
