Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Sticks Up For Christian Watson’s Woes.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love spoke to reporters on Wednesday about the chemistry between him and wide receiver Christian Watson this season. Love has played well this season when targeting anyone but Watson.
When Jordan Love targets him this season, his passer rating is under 40 and when he targets anyone else other than him, it is 80 or above. Love told Matt Schneidman, the Green Bay Packers the Athletic beat writer on Wednesday:
Love did a good job of being a leader in this situation instead of throwing his teammate under the bus because that is what quarterbacks usually do. But the thing is, do the numbers really lie about Love’s to Watson’s connection this season? When he does not target him, Jordan Love has thrown for 13 touchdowns and five interceptions.
When he does, Love has thrown for one touchdown and five interceptions. Christian Watson has not been the top wide receiver that the Packers had hoped for this season.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Doesnt’t Really Need Christian Watson But Was Being a Good Teammate to the Media.
Remember when the Packers started the season 2-1 and Love threw for seven touchdown passes without Christian Watson? Pepperidge Farms remembers. He has only thrown seven total touchdowns from weeks four through 10. With Green Bay at a 3-6 record, they are looking towards the future and not the present.
Love has had great chemistry with Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Romeo Doubs. For some reason, Watson does not appear to work for the Packers offense. Some fans want to question Love’s deep ball, but there seem to be no issues connecting deep with Jayden Reed.
It feels like when Love targets Christian Watson, something bad is going to happen. In last week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Love had two touchdown passes when not targeting Watson and he threw two interceptions when targeting Watson.
Love was a good teammate not trying to throw his teammate under the bus. However, every Packers fan knows what the issue is in the offense.
