Steelers Will Avoid Two Key Starters Against Browns.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers will avoid not one, but two starting offensive tackles when they face the Cleveland Browns in Week 11.
The Browns announced this week that left tackle Jedrick Wills will miss at least the next four games as they place him on Injured Reserve with an MCL sprain. Wills isn’t expected to miss the season, but with his IR placement, he won’t make a return in time for Pittsburgh.
Cleveland is already without their starting right tackle in Jack Conklin, whose season ended early with a knee injury. Rookie Dawand Jones made his NFL debut against the Steelers in Week 2 and has held onto the starting job ever since.
The Steelers hold a 1-0 lead in the season series against the Browns and are currently 2-0 in the AFC North. With Cleveland and Cincinnati coming up with back-to-back games, Pittsburgh will be looking for Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt to take advantage of the backups on the outside and grow the Steelers’ advantage in the division.
