Steelers Monitoring Two Players Ahead Of Packers Game.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with two injuries as they return to practice and begin preparation for Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers.
Head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned two players the team will monitor throughout the week in hopes of playing against the Packers. Defensive tackle Montravius Adams (ankle) and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) are names to keep an eye on.
Tomlin didn’t sound too optimistic about Fitzpatrick’s availability this week, saying he could have some participation by week’s end. The All-Pro is “improving,” but it appears unlikely he will be active and instead miss a second week. A return to practice would make his first day back in two weeks.
Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal started in his place and would continue to do so if he misses more time.
Adams suffered an ankle injury early against the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. He was unable to return to the field and was seen wearing a walking boot in the locker room to start the week.
Tomlin said Adam’s participation throughout the practice week will determine his status for Week 10.
Without Adams, the Steelers will turn to rookie Keeanu Benton, who stepped in last week and recorded three tackles.
