New Bills RB wonders why he’s even allowed to play with this teammate.

Leonard Fournette’s debut with the Buffalo Bills will have to wait at least one more week as he wasn’t elevated from the team’s practice squad for tonight’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fournette is chomping at the bit to get onto the field, but while he waits the veteran took to social media on Sunday to issue a warning of sorts to the NFL. His message? The league made a mistake letting him be on the same team as Stefon Diggs, his close friend.
Fournette, 28, was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. After three seasons in Jacksonville, Fournette was waived by the team. He would sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and win a Super Bowl with the team in 2020. In his first season with the Buccaneers, Fournette earned the nicknames “Playoff Lenny” and “Lombardi Lenny” for his postsason play. The back remained in Tampa Bay through the 2022 season. In March, the Buccaneers released the veteran back. He sat on the free agent market until the Bills officially signed him this week on Tuesday.
In his career, Fournette has rushed for 4,478 yards and 34 touchdowns in 79 games played. Last season, Fournette posted a 189-668-3 stat line with the Buccaneers on the ground while adding 523 yards on 73 receptions.
Buffalo’s running back room currently features James Cook, Latavius Murray and Ty Johnson. If the Bills’ backs struggle, it may just be a matter of time before Fournette is elevated from the practice squad or signed to the 53-man roster. Whenever that happens, Fournette seems convinced that he will be able to help lead the team to a great season.
