Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett’s status uncertain for Week 9 due to rib injury.
Key point:
- Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting quarterback Kenny Pickett may not play in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans due to a rib injury
Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Kenny Pickett may miss Week 9’s game against the Tennessee Titans due to a rib injury. Pickett left last week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of the injury, and the Steelers are hopeful that he can play this week. If Pickett is unable to go, Mitch Trubisky will be the starting quarterback. Trubisky struggled in relief of Pickett last week, throwing for 138 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin will make a game-time decision on Pickett’s availability for Week 9. If Pickett is sidelined, the Steelers’ team total points are likely to be under 19.5. Pickett has dealt with multiple injuries in the past, including concussions, but this rib injury may be the most significant non-head injury he has faced. Pickett may attempt to play through the rib ailment. If he doesn’t play, the Steelers will have 10 days off before their next game against the Green Bay Packers on November 12.
