Buy/Sell Cardinals’ Fantasy Football Projections

Chiefs-Broncos Game in Denver Could Be Significantly Impacted by Snowstorm - Sports Illustrated

With the Arizona Cardinals set to take on the Baltimore Ravens tomorrow, we take a look at some fantasy football projections for the notable Cards.

Fantasy football is a beautiful thing when you’re winning and God-awful when you’re losing.

If you have any Arizona Cardinals on your team, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

It’s been an up-and-down year for Cards fantasy players and this week doesn’t look promising with the Baltimore Ravens defense in town. With an offense featuring Lamar Jackson, expectations should be tempered.

We’re here today to look at stat projections for the notable Cardinals fantasy players courtesy of ESPN.

*Note – All projections are for PPR Leagues.

Josh Dobbs

ESPN projections: 16.5 points

Dobbs hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in two weeks. A rushing touchdown last week saved him from back-to-back 10 points (or fewer) in those outings. Now he’s going against a stout Ravens defense with a great pass rush. Dobbs’s only hope of getting to 16.5 points is if he gets garbage time points, but even Jared Goff had under 10 points last week.

Verdict: Sell

Emari Demercado

ESPN projections: 12.1 pointsEmari Demercado - Football - TCU Athletics

Demercado had a solid outing last week with an 11.5 performance. His 17 touches gives hope that he can once again see a solid workload. If the opportunities present themselves, it’s easy to envision Demercado getting 10+ touches again, especially if Keaontay Ingram is a nonfactor again. Hopefully, he gets a handful of catches for some PPR leagues.

Verdict: Buy

Marquise Brown

Cardinals WR Marquise Brown gives remark about Ravens when asked about new Arizona offense

ESPN projections: 13.9

This is setting up to be a revenge game for Brown as he goes against the team that drafted him in the first round in 2019 before trading him to the Cardinals. It also helps that Marlon Humphrey said the Ravens don’t need to game plan for him. Brown has 32 catches on the year and has had four-or-more receptions in all but two games. For PPR leagues, I like Brown to get heavy volume but don’t hold out hope for big yardage. If you’re lucky, maybe Dobbs gets him a garbage-time touchdown.

Verdict: Buy

Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson: Stats, Injury News & Fantasy Projections

ESPN projections: 6.3

Wilson’s usage has dropped considerably lately and against a good Ravens’ defense that doesn’t seem likely to change this week. Wilson hasn’t gone over 10 points in three weeks with a high of 9.2. His other two games were 2.8 and 5.6. I feel confident that 5.6 would be a good day for him.

Verdict: Sell

Trey McBride

Trey McBride interview: Why he is TE1 at NFL Draft, playing for the Denver Broncos and his breakout season at Colorado State | NFL News | Sky Sports

ESPN projections: 8.0

McBride’s usage is going up with Zach Ertz out, but even still he has just one performance of double-digit points. Like his teammates, this is not a good matchup for McBride. Both Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen are playing at a Pro Bowl level and a second-year tight end isn’t likely to make noise. McBride would need double-digit targets to sniff his projection.

Verdict: Sell

Cardinals D/ST

The Cardinals Are Completely Overmatched Against the Ravens Elite Pass Rush: D/ST Streaming Week 8 - RotoViz

ESPN projections: 8.2

If you think you’re getting positive points from the Cardinals defense against Lamar Jackson and co. then you’re praying for some Ravens’ miscues. This is a hard pass, but if you’re starting the Cardinals defense in your fantasy football teams then you need to learn to love yourself.

Verdict: Sell
