Rotherham United trip postponed for Ipswich Town man as McKenna offers updated injury information.
Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, has announced that Freddie Ladapo will not play tomorrow night.
The striker for Ipswich Town sustained an Achilles injury during the international break. He won’t play against Rotherham United, his old team.
Ladapo, 30, will now consult with an expert to ascertain the length of time he would be sidelined. In the Tractor Boys’ most recent Championship match, a 4-2 victory over Preston North End, the attacker entered the game off the bench.
According to a Suffolk News story, McKenna has given the following update on his current circumstances: “Freddie has an achilles problem, so he’s seeing a specialist today. Hopefully nothing too serious, but he won’t be available for the weekend, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens with the games the next week.
Ipswich injury
Ladapo gives Ipswich competition and depth in attacking areas, so losing him is a loss. But, they do have some excellent choices in his position, including Kayden Jackson and George Hirst.
In an attempt to bolster their front line, the Tractor Boys pounced on Rotherham in May of last year and acquired the forward. With 17 goals in the league and 21 goals overall last season, he helped the East Anglian team win promotion from League One.
Since then, Ladapo has contributed four goals to the campaign. His Portman Road contract expires at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 campaign.
After playing for three years at Selhurst Park and two non-league stints at Kidderminster Harriers and Margate, he was signed by Crystal Palace in 2016.
Before moving to Ipswich, the Londoner played for Southend United, Plymouth Argyle, and Rotherham after severing his connection with the Premier League team.
McKenna’s team is currently dominating the second division and sits second in the standings, just behind Leicester City. They will be keen to maintain their momentum by defeating the Millers on the road the following game.
