Carl Starfelt may have a part to play in Celtic preparation for upcoming clash.
Less than a week separates us from what is perhaps the most exciting match of Celtic’s UEFA Champions League group stage campaign: a home match against Atletico Madrid. Alright, so we’re all probably still a little hurt over how things went against Lazio. We lost a game that we should have won. Out of the two teams that have played so far in the competition, we have zero points, while every other team has at least three.
However, Celtic’s chances of winning the Champions League seem endless, and we’re all hoping to defeat Diego Simeone’s team at home for the first time in ten years.
The dominant La Liga team, like us, must win this weekend’s home match before moving on to the continental stages. They’re playing Celticta to get ready for Celtic.
Atletico travels to Galicia on Saturday night to play struggling Celta Vigo. Naturally, Carl Starfelt will face them a few days before to their trip to Celtic Park.
Since leaving Glasgow for his new team in the summer, the Swede has been a regular for them. He might also be involved in how we get ready for the big one.
In Glasgow, Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers reportedly had a close friendship. For one thing, they never lost a Premiership match that they initiated together. Are you trying to tell me that Starfelt won’t be conversing to CCV, international teammate Gustaf Lagerbielke, or anyone else at the club after his match against Atleti on Saturday?
It would be foolish of us to not reach out to him and inquire a little about Atletico’s performance. Even though we will have done a lot of study on them before the game, it would be great to hear from players.
Everything counts, after all.
