Martin O’Neill, a legend of Celtic, issues a direct challenge to Philippe Clement, the current manager of Rangers.

My wife wasn't earwigging': Martin O'Neill recounts Celtic eviction from Rangers hotel, early years at boarding school and Northern Ireland desire

For Philippe Clement, the newly appointed manager of the Rangers, Celtic icon Martin O’Neill has turned up the heat in the cooking.

Former Monaco coach Philippe Clement has been hired as Michael Beale’s replacement at Ibrox after the rumored Rangers savior was fired.

Martin O’Neill also discussed the person who has been brought in to challenge Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic in an interview with White & Jordan on talkSPORT .

Martin O’Neill was very direct about the circumstances and how his only mission is to “win” and “win” only. He doesn’t want to hear crap like “we have a three-year plan.”

Philippe Clement needs to know and comprehend that Celtic are the dominant power in Scotland, and that has been the case for more than ten years now, excepting a disastrous season played behind closed doors.

In light of this, Martin O’Neil suggested that a good place to start would be to be more pragmatic than his predecessor.

Phillippe Clement is hired by the Rangers.
Regarding what Clement must accomplish, O’Neill remarked, “Just win some football games.” It’s that simple: You have to surpass Celtic. You must carry out the action.

Philippe Clement: "We could have scored more than one goal"

“You must complete that relatively soon. That’s the thing; don’t come in and demand that you have a three-year plan or nurture the young players, which I believe he might be able to achieve.

“But no, you must triumph. And you succeed right away.

A 7-point advantage
That is the magic number, and as of right now, it just seems to be increasing.

The good news for the Bhoys is that, despite having a lead, there is a sense that the club can still pick up the pace now that important players are well again.

And if Celtic is truly underperforming in this instance, things could get complicated for the incoming Rangers manager.
