Luis Palma, in Chris Sutton’s opinion, will take Jota’s spot at Celtic.
Since last Saturday, Celtic has been idle, and it will be more than a week before the Bhoys resume competitive play. Many have already had a chance to evaluate how things have gone so far this season, and Chris Sutton has done just that.
The former Hoops frontman has focused on winger Luis Palma in his most recent RecordSport article. The Honduran international, in his opinion, is Celtic’s Jota successor, and thus far, he has shown promise.
In recent weeks, Palma has become stronger and stronger, scoring goals against Motherwell and Kilmarnock. Regarding him, Sutton remarked: “Luis Palma also provided a new spark. Although I thought it was absurd that it took Celtic nearly two months to locate a replacement for Jota, the Honduran showed some promising indicators. There was a lot to enjoy about his performance in a creative sense, and his goal was excellent. His deft through ball to Kyogo was my favorite. It was all original.
The 23-year-old’s play is appealing to the eye. He appears to be getting better with each outing and to have firmly established himself as the team’s left wing.
Palma will be anxious to resume where he left off after the intermission for the international break. The grueling matches against Hearts, Atletico Madrid, and Hibernian within a week will be difficult, but Palma will want to stand out in them.
