In order to become the new manager of Rangers, Philippe Clement has three non-negotiable demands that must be met by the Ibrox board.

Philippe Clement: "I am very honored to be at AS Monaco"

The vacant Ibrox managerial position is being contested by Kevin Muscat of Yokohama F Marinos.

The two remaining candidates for the position of Rangers manager are trying to determine if they will get the job, and Philippe Clement might have some major demands.

The manager is awaiting word from the Ibrox insiders on whether he would be given the Scottish Premiership hot seat. Kevin Muscat of the Yokohama F Marinos is also vying for the top position at Ibrox. However, the Belgian manager is in a good position to negotiate with the club because a Saudi Pro League team has made a sizable financial offer to send the former Club Brugge manager to the Middle East rather than Govan.

Philippe Clement: "Trust has always been there"

In order to have the new manager in place for the start of league play against Hibs on October 21, Record Sport understands that remuneration agreements for both Muscat and Clement have been hammered out. But if Clement is the one to enter the dugout, what may he be asking for? The time is running out, and Rangers supporters are eager to see the new manager take charge. Record Sport looks at several suggestions Philippe Clement has given regarding the qualities he wants in his next position.

A sustained commitment
If Clement is meant to be a quick fix for the Ibrox board, he doesn’t seem to be in a rush to fill the gap left by Michael Beale. Record Sport is aware that the Belgian has reservations about taking the helm after witnessing the Light Blues board fire Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale, neither of whom lasted longer than a year in the position.

After being fired after only 18 months at Monaco, the boss is taking his time making the call. He has made light of his little tenure in Ligue 1; this may be interpreted as wanting more time to rehabilitate. According to him, a year and a half is a lengthy tenure for a Monaco coach, as many people informed him subsequently. I guess I also accomplished something. “The rise from position 7 to position 3.”

Spending capacity
The lack of spending power during his second season in command seems to be a pet peeve of the manager from his time in Ligue 1. As the three most notable exits, Benoit Badiashile, Sofiane Diop, and Aurelien Tchouameni went to Chelsea, Nice, and Real Madrid, respectively. Clement has expressed his unhappiness at the lack of recruitment, which contributed to his dismissal.

According to Clement, the Financial Fair Play Act placed restrictions on the transfer market’s strength. 120 million dollars into the two markets, but we reinvested significantly less. Nevertheless, despite having a younger set of players, the goals remained the same.

Rangers spent a lot of money on players over the summer, but Michael Beale’s additions have not performed well. Clement might ask the board to withdraw money from the transfer fund once more in January.

New exercise program
Since leaving Monaco, Clement has gained a lot of knowledge about fitness and has been vocal about it. The board can then be tasked with hiring particular coaches to meet his requirements.

After Michael Beale was fired, there was talk that Steven Davis, the club’s interim leader, could continue in his position as the number two. If Clement arrives with his own vision, that might alter.

CdF : la colère noire de Philippe Clément après l'élimination de Monaco face à Rodez

“I used to be relatively fit for a head coach, but still,” Clement noted in reference to his alterations since leaving French football. At the club where we work, you eat twice a day from buffets that are loaded with sugar and carbohydrates. I’ve moved on from that. The things I did this summer will make me even better in the future. A healthy mind in a healthy body. I’ll make an effort to apply these in my next work as well.
