Celtic’s summer acquisition is already doomed to fail.
In the summer transfer window, Celtic made nine acquisitions. Two were on loan agreements, while seven were arriving permanently. Even while the majority of supporters expected the Hoops to add some proven and experienced stars to their roster in order to better handle the Champions League challenge, they largely committed to signing highly-rated young players.
Some people have shown glimpses of brilliance so far. However, for some people, things do not appear to be going so well.
Kwon Hyeok-kyu is a player who has not yet been given a chance. The Busan IPark midfielder from South Korea was acquired in the summer.
Celtic have been struggling for a while to find any stability in the defensive midfield position. Numerous players have been added to that part of the field, but none have been able to leave their mark. And regrettably, it appears that Kwon is currently moving in the same path.
Celtic’s summer acquisition is already doomed to fail
Since joining Celtic in the summer, Kwon has not made a single appearance. And it is difficult to imagine his Parkhead career taking off if things don’t get better soon.
It is likely too early to draw any conclusions, according to many. But the truth is that Kwon isn’t currently participating in any football games. He isn’t even making the bench, to be honest. He doesn’t seem to be a part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans, and it’s becoming harder to understand why he was signed as time goes on.
In addition to everything else, Jeong Ho-Yeon, a South Korean defensive midfielder, is already being linked to Celtic. Naturally, one must question what Kwon’s future at Parkhead will entail. At this rate, it wouldn’t be unexpected to see him soon approaching the exit door.
