Scottish loan boy Friday night’s 6-1 demolition of Belarus by the Portugal under-21 team included a goal by Paolo Bernardo.
While the Celtic midfielder is still becoming acclimated to life in Glasgow, he is getting crucial playing time during the current international break, which will enable him to return to Celtic Park sharper and with greater effect.
Similar to as they did with Jota, Celtic have the option to purchase Bernardo if they like what they see. Bernardo joined Celtic on loan from Benfica during the summer transfer window.
On Friday night, Bernardo handled his goal nicely when it was presented to him.
As the season progresses, Celtic and Brendan Rodgers will require contributions from the entire team. Between now and the end of the season, the Hoops have a ton of games. Paolo will certainly have his chance; the key is seizing it when it presents itself.
The player is located in a highly competitive area of the field that is shared by players like Reo Hatate, Callum McGregor, and Matt O’Riley.
