Burnley and Brentford are interested in signing Sunderland striker Clarke, according to sources.

Prior to the January transfer window, Brentford and Burnley of the Premier League are reportedly interested in Sunderland player Jack Clarke.

Despite intense interest from Burnley, the 22-year-old was retained by the Black Cats throughout the summer transfer window.

Before moving on to other targets, Vincent Kompany’s team had a proposal of just over £10 million for Clarke rejected.

The Lancashire team, though, is still keeping an eye on the winger and has been pleased with his performance thus far this season.

Sunderland is now preparing for interest in Clarke’s services before to the January window as a result.

Due to his importance to Tony Mowbray’s plans, they want to cling onto the York-born star.
With Sunderland having a successful start to the 2023–24 season, Clarke has seven goals in 12 appearances across all competitions.

He first joined the Wearside team in January 2022 while on loan from Tottenham.

In 20 appearances, the former Leeds youth recorded one goal and four assists, assisting Sunderland win a play-off promotion from League One.

After that brief stint, Clarke won a permanent transfer to the Stadium of Light, where he contributed 11 goals and 14 assists in helping Mowbray’s team reach the second-tier playoffs the previous year.

The 22-year-old has maintained that form in the new campaign, solidifying himself as one of the top performers in the Championship and piqueing the curiosity of Brentford and Burnley.

Clarke’s most recent stint in the Premier League was with Tottenham, where he only made four appearances after joining from Leeds in 2019 for an estimated sum of roughly £10 million.

In other news, Brentford intends to prevent top player from signing with competitors in January.
