He was apparently a target for the Reds in the summer as they strengthened their roster in an effort to compete in the Premier League. And his name is one that won’t go away.

He’s had a strong start to the season, and from what we’ve heard in Germany, interest in him is only going to increase. With the newest update from newspaper Bild claiming Forest are still keeping eyes on him, we take a look at the forward’s career thus far and what has been stated regarding his future.

He is who?
In his early years, Guirassy played for French teams Montargis, Amilly, and Laval. Since then, he has enjoyed a career that has included a variety of callings.

He has played for Lille, Auxerre, Cologne, Amiens, Rennes, and recently Stuttgart as a member of the Guinean national team. The 27-year-old signed a three-year contract with the latter at the conclusion of the 2022–2023 season after they exercised an option to make his move a permanent one.

Guirassy’s stellar performance this season has vindicated the club’s choice. His side is now in second place in the Bundesliga thanks to his 10 goals in six league games. No other Stuttgart player had ever began the 2023–24 season with eight goals and eight shots on goal in his first four league games.

He has been compared to former England forward Emile Heskey by the Bundesliga’s official website. They claim that Heskey’s commanding presence, quickness, and occasionally potent finishing are similar to those of Stuttgart’s hot striker. Similar to Heskey in style, Guirassy is a strong presence in the air, has excellent close control, and can play out wide to give his side more options.

What would his price be?
According to recent reports, Guirassy’s contract contains a £17 million release clause that will go into effect during the next year. Thus, at the end of the season, he can be offered for what has been labeled a “bargain” price.

The attacker is thought to be “appealing” to Steve Cooper’s team because of his current scoring run and release clause. However, given Stuttgart’s great start to the season, it is “unlikely” that anything will occur in January.

In the past, Fulham and him were connected. There were reportedly discussions about moving to Craven Cottage, but Guirassy ultimately decided to remain in Stuttgart.

Exactly what was said?
Guirassy recently commented on the summer rumors. And he made a suggestion that he would at some point be open to moving to the Premier League.

“We (Stuttgart) have a good team, a good coach and incredible fans,” he stated. “As a family, we’re at home in Stuttgart. That is the reason I chose to remain at VfB.

When asked if playing in the top division of English football was his desire, he responded, “Not precisely a dream. But why not, if a transfer to the Premier League is a possibility at some point? But it’s not like I always dream about it.

A striker is needed by Forest?
The Reds reinforced their assault in the summer by signing Callum Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga, and forward Divock Origi on loan from AC Milan. Chris Wood is another option for head coach Cooper, and Taiwo Awoniyi, who is in his second season with the team, has had a solid start to the current campaign.

In their first three games of the campaign, Forest has produced some thrilling play. They have an abundance of attacking danger. They haven’t always, though, produced enough chances or goals to support that.

They have scored three goals in their last four games and have eight goals after seven league games. Cooper is eager to increase that total, despite the fact that some of it may be attributed to the Reds’ new additions adjusting and the players coming together as a unit.

Every club strives to have enough firepower in their ranks, and Forest is no exception. They appear to have a number of players who can cause a variety of issues for the opposing squad.

The transfer transaction they hope to conduct next summer will be impacted by how the upcoming months play out. It’s unlikely that just the Reds will be observing Guirassy with admiration if he continues his scoring spree.
