Goalkeeper Brad Foster has been assigned to Alvechurch on loan, according to West Brom.
On Thursday [5 October], Albion posted a message on their official Twitter account confirming the news and wishing the goalkeeper well.
The 22-year-old has signed a 28-day first contract with Alvechurch of the Southern League Premier Division Central.
Foster, who recently joined West Brom, has also spent time this season on loan at Rushall Olympic.
precious minutes
Foster’s long-term prospects at The Hawthorns are difficult to predict at this point.
The Englishman had previously appeared for former side Derby County on the substitutes’ bench, but he is currently not even in the matchday lineup for West Brom.
At the age of 22, Foster has yet to play for a senior team and is currently—at least temporarily—making a living in non-league.
Foster’s prospects of standing out are slim because Alex Palmer, Ted Cann, and Josh Griffiths are ahead of him in the goalkeeping hierarchy.
However, playing regular football somewhere else, regardless of the level, will at least offer him the chance to demonstrate his abilities.
The future? This loan decision could be utilized a few years from now to demonstrate how far Foster has advanced in a short period of time.
