The 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night at The Hawthorns was missed by the Ecuadorian international, who is on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion for the 2023–24 season.

The manager stated: “Jeremy is a guy who hasn’t had the habit of playing games, so if he is playing more minutes, always there is a risk.

He complained of some quadriceps soreness. At the conclusion of the Preston game, he was playing a few minutes when he had left quadricep muscle pain.

“He was receiving therapy for this problem on Sunday, and when the physicians checked, when the pain persisted and didn’t go away, they produced a scan, which revealed an injury yesterday. He will be separated from the group for four weeks as a result. It’s challenging.

“I have been quite mindful of that whenever I have given him minutes. He had a history of injuries and didn’t play games frequently.

It’s challenging because it will effect you, as I found out yesterday that he would be sidelined for four weeks. I never want to lose a player, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have any solutions.
