Report: Top Signing Injury Throws Newcastle Plans Awry

Report: Top Signing Injury Throws Newcastle Plans Awry.

Newcastle’s Barnes Will Be Sidelined for a Long Time

Influential winger Harvey Barnes is expected to lose a significant amount of time due to a catastrophic foot injury, which can only be regarded as a major setback for Newcastle United.

The Impact of Barnes
Barnes arrived at St. James’ Park from Leicester in July for a cool £38 million, and he has already made an impact with two Premier League starts and a goal. A early exit 12 minutes into the magnificent 8-0 thrashing of Sheffield United on Sunday, though, raises serious injury concerns.

A Not So Common Injury
According to BBC Sport, a further scan revealed the full amount of the damage, and Barnes is now waiting to hear whether surgery will be required. Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, went into detail about the injury, saying, “It’s an injury to a section of the foot just below the toe. It seems like quite a serious injury to me. Howe continued by saying, “I won’t go too technical because I’m not qualified to do so, but yes it’s a very unusual injury.” This further clarified the ailment’s complexity.

After the game, Barnes’ plight was clear, and Howe noted that the player’s quick reaction was different from that of ordinary muscular ailments. He was depressed after the game, according to Howe, since he realized it wasn’t a typical injury where you feel a muscle and assume it will take one to two weeks to heal. This problem was a little trickier.

Future Obstacles for Newcastle
Howe and his side will undoubtedly notice Barnes’ absence on the field with an upcoming Carabao Cup matchup against Manchester City. Barnes was expected to contribute more to the squad this season despite just making seven appearances for Newcastle and earning one England cap in his career.
