Benjamin Sesko makes Manchester United transfer admission amid Premier League dream

After John Murtough met with Sesko’s agent last summer, Man United nearly made a play for the forward.

Benjamin Eko, a striker for RB Leipzig, acknowledges that he was not involved in the transfer negotiations with Manchester United but maintains that moving to Germany would be better for his development.

Slovenian striker eko, who made his name at RB Salzburg, RB Leipzig’s sister club, was acquired by them in August for about £20 million. He scored 16 goals in 30 appearances for Austrian Bundesliga at the age of 19, and he made seven Champions League appearances.

After scoring just 58 goals in the Premier League the previous season, Erik ten Hag and United were in the market for a top-tier striker this summer. Harry Kane was the Dutchman’s top aim, but after speaking with eko the previous summer, football director John Murtough, the kid was once more linked with a move to Old Trafford.

When asked about United’s interest, the Slovenian responded to Transfermarkt, “The thing is, I wasn’t really involved in these kinds of conversations.” But I believe that coming here was better.

“Going to a team that plays a similar brand of football was crucial for me. I didn’t have to go through the entire learning process again because I already understood what I had to do.

“Playing there (in the Premier League) would be fantastic. Instead, let’s concentrate on the here and now for the time being.

Rasmus Hojlund finally arrived at Old Trafford this summer after United and Atalanta reached an agreement on a £72 million transfer after focusing on other areas of the field during Ten Hag’s first transfer window. The international player from Denmark made his professional debut against Arsenal and scored his first goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week, a 4-3 loss.

Eko, on the other hand, has made a great impression since moving to Leipzig, scoring three goals in six games in all competitions.
