Dominik Mysterio: There Will Never Be A Next Rey Mysterio, I’m The Mysterio That Matters
Dominik Mysterio, the son of Rey Mysterio, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, began by fighting alongside his famous father. But at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022, he turned on Rey, and the two engaged in a lengthy feud. At WrestleMania 39, Rey defeated his son, and today the two heroes are thriving in their own ways. While Rey currently owns the WWE United States Championship, Dominik is the current NXT North American Champion.
Dominik Mysterio was asked on In The Kliq if his current challenger, Dragon Lee, may turn out to be the next Rey. He asserted that Rey Mysterio is the only Mysterio who matters and that there would never be another Rey Mysterio.
Dominik Mysterio remarked, “I don’t think there will ever be a next Rey Mysterio. Not because he is my father, but rather because I am the real Mysterio. I’m the one standing here carrying the Mysterio moniker and literally bringing the NXT North American Title to Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
“No one has ever done that, so the fact that I’m here, main-eventing all three shows in a single week—literally, the weekly main event of Raw—is unusual. There is no Rey Mysterio after him. Simply said, I am the Mysterio who matters.
Dominik Mysterio was questioned about his thoughts on his upcoming match with Dragon Lee on the WWE RAW edition of September 25 as well as whether or not Lee’s style intimidates him. Dominik claimed that because he was raised in the Lucha Libre tradition, he is not afraid. Additionally, “Dirty Dom” expressed his certainty that he will triumph.
Dominik Mysterio responded, “No, I wouldn’t say I’m intimidated by Dragon Lee. “Growing up in this Lucha Libre style of wrestling, I’ve had to deal with men like Dragon Lee my entire life. especially if they strive to emulate my father. You may therefore argue that I have some experience with it.
“Therefore, I don’t feel the least bit afraid by him. Already defeated by me. Sadly, he has also defeated me once, but it was just a lucky break. I’ve won handily over him. Therefore, I don’t feel particularly afraid by him. I picture myself leaving as the current NXT North American Champion.
WWE RAW will be covered by WrestleZone when it airs on September 25.
