Jarell Quansah has performed well this season for the Reds’ first team, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given him credit for it.
The Reds manager admits he didn’t think twice about starting the 20-year-old in the past few games when speaking to the Anfield media squad.
Over the past two weeks, Quansah has participated in three straight Premier League games, including a start against Wolves.
According to Goal.com, the recent academy graduate displayed composure at Molineux and was possibly Liverpool’s finest defender for the day.
In a press conference with the Liverpool media team, Klopp referred to Quansah as a “fantastic” talent who had a “super” preseason, indicating that he wouldn’t think twice about using him again.
Before Sunday’s match against West Ham, Klopp said, “In the right moment, in the right club.” “That’s all,”
“He’s our son, a terrific boy, and a member of England’s U20 team, so there is obviously fierce, fierce competition.
“Had a fantastic preseason with us, which is incredibly nice, and earned the right to start the last match against Wolves.
“Some people could think it’s a daring decision, but I didn’t feel it was from us since we definitely had Ibou ready-ish, two days’ worth of training.
He currently has three games under his belt and nine points, which isn’t a bad record, in my opinion.
In our opinion
Klopp has never been afraid to start young players from the academy, and it has certainly paid off.
For instance, few years ago, the Reds started players like Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams, who did well for themselves.
The knowledge and assurance they have gained through playing for Liverpool will serve them well no matter where they finish up.
