Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, is currently being closely watched due to his performance against Bayern Munich last week.
Jonny Evans, a defender for Manchester United, has reassured Andre Onana following criticism of his recent performances by mentioning David de Gea’s trying times at Old Trafford.
To put it mildly, Onana’s debut with the Reds has been uneven. Although it is generally acknowledged that the Cameroonian’s distribution is far superior than that of his predecessor, the former Inter player has made a few critical mistakes while serving as United’s starting No. 1.
His most recent mistake occurred during the midweek Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid when he allowed Leroy Sane’s goal to slip between his palms. Some others claimed United had not improved on their ‘keeper from previous year as a result of the error.
Onana asked for a media interview after the match in Germany and accepted responsibility for the outcome. Evans thought back on his teammate’s action and praised the shot blocker.

“David de Gea, who stayed here for a while, is being replaced by him. Remember that David first found it difficult to fit in at Manchester United, and we were able to observe the kind of career he would eventually have for the team.
De Gea has yet to find a new team to play for after parting ways with United in the summer. According to reports on Friday, the Spaniard is thinking about retiring after turning down offers to go to Saudi Arabia.
