On Saturday, Barcelona stunned Celta Vigo with a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory after scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes.
After Xavi’s squad played poorly for the opening 80 minutes and fell down deservedly 2-0, Robert Lewandowski scored twice to get Barcelona back into the game and prevent them from suffering their first loss of the year.
Joao Cancelo’s late winner gave Barcelona all three points, so the excitement didn’t end there.
How the game went
After the first ten minutes, Barcelona had 80% of the possession, thus they quickly understood the nature of the contest. Although Celta was swift on the counter, they were content to sit deep with their back five in an effort to annoy their opponents.
Iago Aspas’ attempt at a lob required Marc-Andre ter Stegen to backpedal awkwardly, but Celta was celebrating shortly after as Jorgen Strand Larsen evaded the offside trap and found the German’s bottom corner with great brilliance.
Soon after, Jonathan Bamba missed a wonderful chance to add a second. The midfielder was in a good position to score but made a bad attempt to square the ball that was both poorly timed and underhit.
After 23 minutes, Barcelona had its first meaningful shot on goal.
