The three most recent City games have been missed by the England international due to a knee ailment.

However, he has resumed training and is a candidate to be included in the lineup for the home game against Forest.

“Jack is returning. He has put in good training work, so perhaps he will be ready for a few minutes, City boss Guardiola stated on Friday.

Although Bernardo Silva remains out after being substituted in the first half of Tuesday’s Champions League victory for City over Red Star Belgrade, Mateo Kovacic is also getting closer to recovering from a muscle injury.

“(Silva) had a minor injury. It isn’t much at all. The clinical progress is encouraging, but he could be sidelined for one week, ten days, or perhaps two weeks, according to Guardiola.

John Stones and Kevin de Bruyne are also unavailable for City.
