Both successes and failures
Due to illnesses and injuries, Chelsea took the field against AFC Bournemouth last weekend without its entire outfield lineup and two potential substitutes. Some fans’ revisionism would lead us to believe that the present ownership is to blame for these problems, but we are very aware of the times under Frank Lampard when we often had more than five players out injured and didn’t raise a fuss as Pep Guardiola did.
However, more players approach recovery over time. Manager Mauricio Pochettino released some updates on Moisés Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Noni Madueke, and Armando Broja ahead of our Sunday Premier League match against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, with just the first player on the list dubious in terms of availability for the match.
