According to reports, Liverpool may already be close to making its first deal before the January transfer window opens.

Despite the fact that the summer transfer season just closed at the beginning of the month, Liverpool is rumored to be in “advanced talks” to sign a certain player.

Piero Hincapie, a defender for Bayer Leverkusen, was briefly connected to a move to the Reds, but no deal ever materialized, and Jurgen Klopp instead completed the signings of four new midfielders.

According to a new rumor from Fichajes (via Paisley Gates), the Anfield club is still interested in the Ecuadorian player and might close a deal of €55 million before the winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old was given a four-game suspension after being sent off against Borussia Monchengladbach back in May and only made his season debut last week against Bayern Munich.

He was a late replacement as Xabi Alonso’s team tied the Germans with a point.
