According to Sky Sports News analyst Lee Hendrie, Willy Gnonto took a “cold shower” early on in the match between Leeds United and Hull City.
On Wednesday, September 20, the winger left the Championship game at the MKM Stadium with an injury after only 21 minutes.
The teenage Italian was substituted by fellow winger Cryscencio Summerville by Leeds boss Daniel Farke after Gnonto hobbled off the field.
Hendrie commented on Sky Sports News (20 September, 8:12pm), “Gnonto has had to go off.” “He got into a small altercation in the middle of the field, which obviously led to a problem.
He attempted to wash it off, but he is currently taking a cold shower in the locker rooms. You can tell they have strength in depth on the bench now that Summerville has come on for him.
In the Championship, Leeds entered the meeting with Hull riding a strong four-match unbeaten streak that included victories over Ipswich Town and Millwall as well as draws with West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday.
A win would be ideal against the Tigers, but given how their opponents have started the season, a draw would not be the worst outcome. Manager Farke is definitely eager to continue that streak against them.
However, since Gnonto, who is actually one of the club’s most important players, suffered a severe injury, their mission has been made significantly more difficult. It is unknown how long he will be out, but it just makes Farke’s injury problems at Elland Road worse.
At the West Yorkshire club, there is some depth, which is a plus.
