Journalist: “An emerging sense” that Arteta prefers an Arsenal player than a £30 million teammate.

At Arsenal, there is a perception that David Raya is replacing Aaron Ramsdale as Mikel Arteta’s favoured goalkeeper.

Sami Mokbel, a journalist for the Daily Mail, claims that Ramsdale’s condition was made known to rival teams as soon as the Spaniard arrived in the summer.

On Sunday, David Raya had the opportunity to make his Arsenal debut against Everton at Goodison Park. Given that Aaron Ramsdale has held the unquestioned top spot since his £30 million transfer, he was a surprising summer addition.

Mikel Arteta was visibly dissatisfied with the performance of his goalkeepers. Ramsdale appeared to have done very nothing wrong in the opening few weeks of the season, yet it still came as a surprise when he was benched against Everton.

Raya is now Arteta’s first choice at Arsenal.
During the first half of the season, Arsenal will contend on three fronts. As a result, both goalkeepers are expected to have several opportunities.

However, Mokbel has claimed that there is a perception that Raya is on the verge of permanently overtaking Ramsdale in the pecking order.

“Mikel Arteta can be merciless, but the Gunners must undoubtedly take that into consideration. But going forward, there seems to be a shift toward Raya becoming Arteta’s favored choice,” he told the Daily Mail.

Rival clubs are on the alert because Raya was signed from Brentford. Teams would be foolish not to at least keep track of that situation if Ramsdale, who is a superb keeper, was perhaps available.

Ramsdale will undoubtedly have opportunity to regain his position if he soon becomes the number two at the Emirates.
