A double injury boost has been given to Manchester United ahead of their match against Brighton.
The Red Devils’ disappointing season has already seen them plummet into the bottom half of the Premier League league after losses to both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag will be hoping that his midfield and back line will become more stable with the additions of Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon.
And in yet another positive development for United’s manager, midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo may soon join the team again after sharing encouraging updates on social media.
During United’s preseason tour of the United States, 18-year-old Mainoo hurt his ankle. Ten Hag gave the player a start against Real Madrid at the Texas’ NRG Stadium after he impressed him.
Christian Eriksen had to replace the young player after less than five minutes on the field, and the player was seen leaving Old Trafford after the game on crutches.
The Englishman has recently provided an update on his healing, though. On Wednesday, Mainoo posted a photo of himself wearing the complete Manchester United uniform to Instagram along with a clock symbol, indicating that he would be returning soon.
Before United’s loss to Tottenham last month, Ten Hag was questioned about Mainoo’s development. The Red Devils’ manager stated: “Not currently available, but I believe he will be in two months, as winter is quickly approaching and he will unquestionably have his games.”
Diallo has also given an update on his recuperation since suffering a knee injury in the preseason.
The 20-year-old winger wrote the message “Step by step” next to a photo of his knee that was uploaded to Instagram.
Jadon Sancho is expected to be replaced by Diallo at Old Trafford because the winger has been mentioned as a potential late transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

According to sources, esse Lingard will play for West Ham versus Ipswich in a friendly match that will be played behind closed doors as the former England international continues to hunt for a new club.
After leaving Nottingham Forest in June, the 30-year-old free agent has been working out with the Hammers all summer to stay in shape.
Lingard had a disappointing season at Forest, going without a goal in 17 Premier League games as Steve Cooper’s team narrowly escaped the drop.
David Moyes is rumored to be interested in signing Lingard as he has been training with the Hammers.
Lingard, of course, had enjoyed a fruitful half-season loan at West Ham in 2020–2021, scoring nine goals and earning five further assists in just 16 games for Moyes’ team.
The United academy graduate is now scheduled to play Championship team Ipswich in a friendly at Rush Green on Thursday, according to the Mail Online.
Although neither team would release any video of the match, Lingard’s performance is apparently going to help the Hammers decide whether to extend the player’s contract.
Lingard will be hoping he makes the cut for the Premier League teams’ 25-man squad, which must be submitted by September 13.
If Lingard does indeed rejoin West Ham, he might take the field on November 11 against his old team, Forest.
Given that the team lost Gianluca Scamacca and Manuel Lanzini over the summer, West Ham might be eager to bring in another attacker.
Furthermore, having qualified for the Europa League by winning the UEFA Conference League, the Hammers will be aiming to battle on several fronts this season.
Lingard made his career at United where he won the FA Cup and the Europa League and scored 32 goals in 232 appearances. He has also been linked to Premier League rivals Wolves.
Erik ten Hag claims “everything” went against his team at the Emirates, and that Manchester United was wrongfully denied a critical goal in their loss to Arsenal.
In a game filled with action, United was defeated 3-1 in north London.
Midway through the first half, despite the odds, Marcus Rashford gave the visitors the lead before Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal the equalizer.
When Rasmus Hojlund, making his debut, assisted Alejandro Garncho in scoring late in the game, United thought they had secured a victory.
Nevertheless, a VAR review determined that his goal was offside even though one viewpoint appeared to show the Argentine in an onside position.
You observed the game. It wasn’t out of bounds. Wrong angle,” remarked Ten Hag before asserting that Hojlund ought to have received a penalty.
“Hojlund was assessed a penalty. And then we let up a goal where there was obviously a foul on Jonny Evans.
“I believe the performance is appropriate. We played a pretty solid game, in my opinion,” he continued. “But the odds were stacked against us. You can win the game with a little bit more good fortune.
“OK, we can advise you to take use of your opportunities and not give up once you go up 1-0, that’s all true, but I think we made progress with the performance.
You watched the game. Offside was not the case. Wrong angle,” proclaimed Ten Hag, adding that Hojlund ought to have received a fine.
“Hojlund received a penalty. Then we let up a goal where Jonny Evans was clearly fouled, it’s so clear.
“I believe the performance was effective. We performed admirably, in my opinion, he continued. “However, everything worked against us. You’d win the game if you had a little more good fortune.
“OK, we can point out, finish your chances, don’t give up a goal after you go up 1-0, that’s all true, but I think we made progress with the performance.
To cover the vacancy at left-back, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has recruited Marc Cucurella, an unpopular Chelsea defender. This is why.
In the final week of the transfer season, United are looking into the potential of acquiring a left-back to fill in for Luke Shaw, who suffered a muscle injury against Tottenham that might keep the 28-year-old out until November.
According to numerous reports, Erik ten Hag is considering Cucurella of Chelsea, Sergio Reguilón of Tottenham, and Marcos Alonso of Barcelona as Shaw’s successors.
Any agreement for the three, who are all unimportant players at their respective clubs, would be temporary, according to the Guardian.
Tyrell Malacia, Ten Hag’s second left-back option, is also out for an extended length of time due to injury.
3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest for United Ten Hag used Diogo Dalot at left-back, but United is looking for a specialist there. Right-back is Dalot’s recognized position.
After the Spaniard’s underwhelming debut campaign at Stamford Bridge last season, United’s interest in Cucurella in particular has raised questions among some United supporters.
Ten Hag, though, is a longtime fan of Cucurella, according to Gerrard Romero through Utddistrict.
Since the Dutchman’s former team, Ajax, played Getafe in the Europa League in February 2020, he and his staff supposedly have good memories of the 25-year-old.
Ajax, which had advanced to the semifinals of the Champions League the previous season, was defeated by the Spanish team 3-2 on aggregate, with Cucurella shining in both of the games.
The terms of a potential loan move have reportedly been discussed directly between United and Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel.
